PERU FACTORY SOURCING RECAP

It’s time to evolve—creatively, strategically, and operationally. As we continue to grow, so does the need to expand our network of manufacturing partners. That’s what brought us to Peru Moda New York, a trade show sponsored by PromPerú, dedicated to showcasing the depth and excellence of Peruvian craftsmanship to the U.S. market.

WHY PERU—AND WHY NOW

Peru has long been recognized for its rich textile heritage, from luxurious alpaca fibers to deeply rooted artisanal techniques passed down through generations. But beyond the materials, what stands out is the level of specialization. Each factory doesn’t try to do everything—they master something.

At Peru Moda, that truth came to life.

Walking through the show, you could immediately feel the diversity of expertise:

  • Factories specializing in fine gauge knitting—lightweight, precise, and refined

  • Workshops dedicated to hand knitting, where every piece carries a human touch

  • Teams pushing boundaries with mixed stitches and large-scale intarsias

  • Artisans experimenting with yarn painting, brushing effects, and yarn twisting

  • Specialists in cable techniques, fringing, and hand finishing

  • And those focused on unique materials—specially sourced yarns that elevate the entire garment

Each booth wasn’t just a vendor—it was a point of view.

Beyond Production: Finding Creative Partners

Sourcing factories isn’t just about capacity or pricing. It’s about alignment.

What we look for isn’t just who can make something, but who understands why we’re making it. The nuance of knitwear—texture, structure, drape—requires a partner who sees the garment the way we do: as both design and function.

That’s why meeting in person matters.

There’s a different level of clarity when you can:

  • Touch the fabric
  • See the construction up close
  • Talk through techniques in real time
  • Gauge their flexibility and problem-solving approach

Emails and tech packs can only go so far. True collaboration starts with conversation—and trust.

BUILDING THE NEXT CHAPTER

Adding new factories into our rotation isn’t about replacing what we have—it’s about expanding what’s possible.

With the right partners, we can:

  • Explore new techniques that push our design language forward
  • Improve efficiencies without compromising quality
  • Diversify our production capabilities
  • Stay resilient in an ever-changing supply chain landscape

Most importantly, it allows us to continue designing with intention—creating pieces that feel considered, not mass-produced.

A MOMENT TO APPRECIATE CRAFT

Events like Peru Moda are a reminder of why we do what we do.

Behind every sweater is not just yarn, but skill. Not just production, but people. Not just a product, but a story of collaboration that spans continents.

And as we continue building what’s next, we’re doing it with a renewed appreciation for the hands—and minds—that bring knitwear to life.
